WhatsApp Desktop
WhatsApp for PC is the most popular web app that helps you end-to-end encryption chat and audio/video calls.
WhatsApp Web is a browser-based instant messaging app that you can launch by scanning your mobile app using a QR code. It helps to sync your chat, multimedia, and other material on your mobile phone with your computer PC to manage your conversation across the devices.
WhatsApp is the world’s no#1 messaging app to offer free of cost services across the world to enable users to chat, call, and share their multimedia, even the most confidential documents. WhatsApp is basically an Android device, but now it has two versions for Windows PCs: WhatsApp Desktop and WhatsApp Web.
Also available for: Android
WhatsApp Web is a powerful version released for Windows PC in 2015 to facilitate your chat on your PC and laptops. It works similarly to the original app and requires you to have installed WhatsApp on your phone, so you can scan it on your PC using the QR code.
WhatsApp is a cross-platform utility used by billions of users across the world, so it is possible to sync your material on multiple devices, including phone, PC, laptop, etc. WhatsApp Desktop and WhatsApp Web are Windows versions; both are the same, with a few differences, such as WhatsApp Desktop requires an installation process, whereas WhatsApp Web is a browser-based version, and you can directly run it on your PC or laptop without any installation process.
Simply open your web browser and launch the app while navigating to web.whatsapp.com. You are prompted to a screen with a QR code and other instructions to log in using your phone number. Open WhatsApp on your phone, and click on three vertical dots in the right corner to open the settings menu, and select “Linked Devices”. Click on the “Link a Device” and scan the QR code available on the computer screen. It will sync your WhatsApp chats on your PC and enable you to chat and share your multimedia right from your PC.
Earlier, the voice and video calling functionality wasn’t available on both Windows versions, but with the latest update, it is possible to avail the facility of end-to-end encrypted calls. Now, you can make calls while adding up to 32 people right from your desktop with smoother and faster functionality. In addition, the Messenger Room feature helps to make group calls. It is simple, as after creating a room, share with people a link to whom you want to video call up to 8 people, and anyone can join this group video call, even without having WhatsApp or Messenger.
You also have the option to sync WhatsApp Web’s chats and other content with up to four devices, and continue your chatting and sharing process without any limit. You need only to connect the devices to Wi-Fi or any other network connection to contact your friends and family across the world.
On the Web version, you will also find a huge collection of amazing reactions, including emojis, stickers, emoticons, and so on, to make your conversation interesting and simple. The use of reactions helps to avoid typing long sentences; instead, select an emoji, send it to your friend, and simply go ahead.
Similar to a phone, you can share your multimedia files and other important documents. The end-to-end encryption makes your sharing process safe and secure. You can share up to 2GB of data, instead of 100MB, with your WhatsApp contacts. It is a helpful feature for people belonging to small businesses or school groups.
On WhatsApp Web, you will be able to create private and safe groups while adding 512 people. It is the best solution for businesses and other social communities to create large groups to collaborate more reliably. It helps people stay connected, regardless of location and other such limitations.
It is another important addition to WhatsApp Web, as it helps to maintain your privacy and security. When you send or share a confidential document or private content, it will disappear automatically after your sender views it for one time.
The removal of messages from chats one by one is quite a tedious process, so you can do it easily by enabling the “Disappear Messages” feature. It is a simple feature that can be set as the default for all types of future conversations. You have to select a time for the feature, such as 24 hours, 7 days, or 90 days. It will disappear only the newly incoming messages, and not the previous features.
The desktop notification feature is for keeping you up to date with your WhatsApp conversation. You can receive notifications about new messages, calls, and shared files on your desktop, even the WhatsApp isn’t open in your web browser.
